A paid membership with a low one-year subscription fee allows you to download and save up to 100 GPS course files annually.

A one-year membership contract with iGolf allows you to download and save any available golf courses onto your computer to use with the Yardage Pro. Since all golf course files are stored on your computer you can easily swap course files on and off the Yardage Pro as needed. The currency of the information on the iGolf website is updated regularly with any renovations or changed holes so you have access to the most up to date information possible.

Locate golf courses on the iGolf database using a simple search tool–just enter one or two keywords within the course name to produce a list of results. An advanced search option is available to narrow results further as necessary. After you have located your golf course in the iGolf database, you will see the GPS Enabled area of the screen. Bushnell Yardage Pro Review and Field Tests

When you think of Bushnell and golf, you immediately think of their high quality range finders that are in so many golfers’ bags. But this year the company has decided to take it one step further and create a line of GPS units for the players that prefer the simplicity of just looking down at a screen and getting a distance rather than having to use the optics of the range finder. The first to debut in the Bushnell line is the new distance made simple GPS handheld properly called the Yardage Pro.

Durability is where the Yardage Pro really shined. With a rubberized exterior and a completely weather resistant unit, this GPS unit is ready for the outside elements. Something a few others units that we have tested seem to lack.

This trick new laser rangefinder from Bushnell should interest many hunters and sportsmen. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have a concise model designation.

A minor concern is the confusion over the warrantee. The instruction manual claims two years, but the included warrantee card specifies one year. Both state that a check to cover return shipping and handling must be enclosed with any Legend returned for service.

Distance can be measured in yards or meters. To change from yards to meters, look through the monocular, press the mode button (left side of unit) and hold it down for 2 seconds. The display will change from yards to meters or vice-versa.

GPS companies will say that the most useful yardages are to front, middle and back of greens. That’s arguable. For me, having the distance to the pin +/- 1 yard is amazing. On most courses you at least know if the pin is cut front, middle or back. With that info and the exact yardage to the hole, I step up with a lot of confidence in my club and shot selection.

I have been using mine for over a year without having to change the battery yet. I have noticed that as the battery gets lower the effective range does begin to shorten. I have tried both orientations and got the same readings each time. the one button to activate the laser on the top (if held horizontal) of theSport 450 is large enough to be easy to find quickly without having to look away from your target to find the trigger. The 4X20 optics gives enough magnification to easily locate your target and still give alarge enough field of view to quickly pick up targets even at close range.
