Why Your Best Golfing Partner Is A Gps

Why Your Best Golfing Partner Is A Gps

You may be surprised to learn that there is a new tool for your golf arsenal, an electronic gadget that truly lives up to the claim that it can actually improve your golf game. There are now GPS units specifically designed to for use on the golf course.

What is a golf GPS? Using the same process of communicating with satellites to determine your location as your car GPS, the key piece of information provided by all golf GPS units is your distance and direction to the hole. Having this information can help you make strategic choices regarding club type, direction and necessary amount of power for your shot. In addition, a golf GPS can help you in situations when you are playing on a course for the first time. In this way the golf GPS can help level the playing fields and take away the advantage from players who are already familiar with the course.

Advanced golf GPS units can also calculate the distance traveled during your last shot, alert you to the presence of water hazards and bunkers and direct you to target locations. You can zoom in on your current position and analyze your current position in relation to targets or other parts of the course. The GPS stores all of this information so that you can refer to it in the future. Some units include a course recognition feature which automatically recognizes the course you are playing on.

Higher-end golf GPS models will log information about all of your shots in a round, allowing golfers to view and analyze their performance. Others have a scorecard feature that tracks your score and then summarizes the information for your review.

The Barack Obamsa Guide to Massive Free Web Traffic

The Barack Obamsa Guide to Massive Free Web Traffic

We all know about Barack Obama’s stunning internet success – the money he raised, the social networking prowess, the election he won.

But what did he REALLY do that made a difference online? What can you learn from the BO online phenomenon.

Well, one key lesson is this: He Connected. Once someone signed on to his social network they were immediately responded to by a number of difference media messages conveying their personal message of thanks and contribution.

Anyone who signed on would receive targeted emails and telephone calls. They were dealt with state-by-state, region-by-region. In other words, the connection was made at a local level and immediately. The relationship was cemented, the personal approach was emphasised.

While the Net is superb to “reach out” to vast numbers, it can be seen as somewhat impersonal and is very much a mass media device. But if its balanced by personal emails and/or telephone calls (and NEVER overlook the power of the personal phone call, which is much overlooked in online marketing) then a powerful connection is made.

Cleverly, the Obama tactics also tapped into personal networks – kind of like an affiliate marketing program where those with their own contact lists were used to swing voters in key “battleground states”. This created a very powerful message for the Obama camp because it used one of the most powerful means ever of creating connection – Personal Influence.

Using Obama’s iPhone application, for instance, the Obama people were able to not only do something new but also tap into personal networks, which is hugely powerful.

Scott Goodstein, the guru behind the ObamaMobile campaign, said the program generated thousands of additional contacts and within a week of its launch, the tool broke into the Top Ten free downloads on iTunes. It beat iGolf, another new release.

So the Connection Lesson – the Obama Lesson, if you like – is to connect personally and powerfully using all media to their best effect.

He became President. You could become an online guru.
