Other features built into the Sonocaddie V300 include shot distance measuring and tracking, digital scorecard and game analysis functionality, and personalized course editing and mapping. Shot measuring allows players to leave the driving range behind as you accurately measure the length of individual shots, while the tracking system strings each shot in a round together cumulatively for later review. The unit’s digital scorecard and game analysis functionality allows players to toss out their paper scorecard and tiny pencils for good as they keep track of their game digitally and perform an analysis based on pre-determined data points at the end of each round. And although the V300 is designed to download every known aspect of the courses of the world, no course’s links are static. This is where its editing and mapping functionality comes in. To gain a clear perception into what the Sonocaddie V300 offers, simply download the name of the course you are playing onto the handset for a comprehensive display of every contour, slope, dip, and curve. On completion of your round, a review of the automated scorecard and stroke system will help apprise you of the factors affecting your game.
To receive course downloads you must register the Sonocaddie V300 GPS at www.sonocaddie.com and obtain a membership subscription. Registration is for a lifetime and if you restrict the use of the Sonocaddie to your own and a limited number of other courses within your locality, you can register free of charge as a PAR member. This entitles you to five free course downloads and £3 for each additional download. £30 will give you BIRDIE membership, which entitles you to unlimited access to courses within your own country and £5 for any extra courses worldwide. For £50, you can become an EAGLE member, which entitles you to unlimited course, downloads worldwide.
There are an extensive number of courses already listed, but should you wish to have a new course mapped, Sonocaddie will do so free of charge subject to you sending a scorecard or hole-by-hole layout plan. In addition to the extra downloads, you also get the facility of a 3D-birds-eye view of each hole giving the user an advantage especially on courses not previously visited.
